Privacy Policy
Last Updated: October 6, 2026
In plain words
- Accounts are for adults: parents, guardians, and coaches. Athletes don’t have accounts; a parent adds them.
- We collect what you give us and what athletes do in AtBatLab, and use it only to run AtBatLab for you.
- We never sell data, never show ads, and never give it to third parties. Only you, the coaches you connect, and the assistant coaches they approve can see your athlete’s information.
- Our analysis models are built and trained in-house, on AtBatLab’s own systems. We never send your athlete’s videos or information to outside AI services.
- Swing videos are private and deleted after 30 days. They help train our own analysis unless you turn that off.
- You can delete an athlete, or your whole account, at any time in the app.
1. Who we are
AtBatLab (“we”, “us”) provides Game Lab, a baseball decision-training game, and Swing Lab, video swing analysis. AtBatLab is operated by:

2. Who uses AtBatLab
Accounts are for people 18 and older. We ask for your birth year when you sign up; if someone tells us they’re under 18, we don’t create the account, or we delete it if it was started with Google. Athletes, including children, use AtBatLab through a parent’s or coach’s account as athlete profiles; they don’t sign in themselves, and we don’t ask them for an email address or other contact details. Coaches may add athletes to their own team roster; a family sees a coach’s work, and the coach sees the family’s, only after the family connects to the coach’s team. Our Children’s Privacy Notice explains how we handle information about athletes under 13.
3. Information we collect
3.1 Your account
- Email address, name, and birth year (to confirm you’re an adult)
- Your password, stored only as a one-way hash we can’t read; or, if you sign in with Google, the name and email Google shares
- Your account type (family or coach), team names, and settings
3.2 Athlete profiles (entered by a parent or coach)
- Name or nickname, age group or birth date, gender, handedness, positions, jersey number, bat length, and notes
- An optional photo
- Teams the athlete is on and the coaches connected to them
3.3 Game Lab activity
- Answers chosen in each play, whether the first answer was right, retries, and when the right answer was shown
- Time spent on each play, workshops and practice completed, and levels opened
- Assignments and notes between a family and a connected coach
- Practice points on a team board, if the coach keeps the board on (section 6.1)
3.4 Swing Lab videos
- Videos you upload, the trimmed and processed copies we make, and an annotated copy with analysis overlays
- Measurements we extract: body-position points, bat path, timing, and scores
3.5 Other
- What you tell support
- Records of what you agreed to and when (for example, adding an athlete or sharing with a coach)
- Basic technical information, measured by AtBatLab itself: IP address, browser and device type, how long a visit lasts and how you found AtBatLab (such as the referring site), sign-in and security events, and which features are used
4. How we use it
- To run AtBatLab: Game Lab plays, report cards, progress, assignments, and swing analysis
- To share with the coaches you connect, as described in section 6
- To keep accounts secure and to answer support requests
- To improve AtBatLab using our own usage statistics
- To train our own analysis models with swing videos and catch analysis mistakes sooner, unless the athlete’s account turns that off (section 5)
We don’t sell or rent personal information, show ads, use information for advertising or to build advertising profiles, use facial recognition, or share information with data brokers. We may email account holders (never athletes) about AtBatLab, such as pricing changes.
5. Swing videos
- Who can see them: people in your account, coaches you choose to share swing videos with (a separate switch for each coach), and AtBatLab staff when needed for support or safety. A video a coach uploads of your athlete is visible to that coach’s team and to you, even if you later stop sharing.
- How long we keep them: the original, processed, and annotated videos are deleted automatically 30 days after upload, including videos whose analysis failed. Measurements, scores, and summaries stay until you delete the athlete or your account.
- They aren’t anonymous: a video shows the athlete and anyone else in the frame, so we treat every video as personal information about a child.
- Training our analysis is on unless you turn it off. A small number of swing videos may be copied to train AtBatLab’s own analysis models and catch analysis mistakes sooner; being included doesn’t mean a video will be used. The athlete’s account decides: a parent for a family’s athlete (when adding the athlete or later in the athlete’s details), or the coach for an athlete on their own roster. Turning it off is never required to use any feature. A training copy is a full copy of the video, used only by AtBatLab and never shared or sold. The copy the app keeps is deleted within 15 days of being chosen (or right away if training is turned off), and copies used in a training run are deleted after that run.
- Coaches can save copies. A connected coach can view, and download, the swing videos and analyses shared with them; copies a coach saves are theirs to keep, and we can’t delete them.
5A. How we use AI
- In-house only. Swing analysis (body-position tracking and bat detection) runs on AtBatLab’s own systems, and our models are trained in-house. We don’t send athletes’ videos or information to outside AI companies or services (such as chatbots) to analyze, train, or generate anything.
- Measurements, not identities. We keep swing measurements, like hip and shoulder rotation, stride, bat path, timing, and scores, because they’re how athletes track progress. We don’t use facial recognition, and we don’t create or keep face scans, fingerprints, or any other information used to identify a person from their body.
6. Sharing
6.1 Coaches you choose
When a parent connects an athlete to a coach’s team (by team code, with the coach’s approval) or invites a coach, that coach’s team sees the athlete’s profile (name, photo, age, positions, and other details, but not the family’s private notes), Game Lab practice, report card, and assignments, plus the parent’s name and email. The coach also sees the swing videos and analyses the family uploads, unless the parent turns that off for that coach. The parent can disconnect at any time, and the coach loses access to the profile and Game Lab work right away. If the coach keeps the team board on, athletes on the team and their families see each other’s first name, last initial, and practice points from the last 7 days; a parent can keep their athlete off the board. If a family later deletes an athlete, a coach who was connected may keep an anonymous summary of the progress made while coaching them (age group, dates, and practice results; no name, photo, or video). If you invite a coach by email, we email them your athlete’s name and your name.
6.1A Assistant coaches
A head coach can add assistant coaches to their staff, and each one is approved by the head coach before seeing anything. Approved staff see the team’s athletes as the head coach does. A parent can keep any assistant coach from seeing their athlete, at any time, from the athlete’s details.
6.1B Other athletes and families
Other athletes and their families can’t see your athlete’s information. The one exception is a practice board, a just-for-fun motivator that’s easy to switch off: on a team board (if the coach turns it on) teammates see a first name, last initial, and practice points, and you can keep your athlete off it; a family board (if you turn it on) ranks only the athletes in your own account.
6.2 Services that run AtBatLab for us
Hosting, database, and file storage providers; an email delivery service (for account emails, coach invitations, and support); Google, only if you choose to sign in with Google; and a CAPTCHA service (Cloudflare or Google), only if unusually many uploads trigger a check that you’re a person. They may use the information only to provide their service to us.
6.3 Combined, de-identified statistics
We combine results across many athletes, for example how much first-try reads or swing scores improve by age group or by league type (Little League, travel ball), to improve AtBatLab and to describe its results, including to investors or a company that may buy AtBatLab. Everyone’s results count. Anything we share outside AtBatLab combines at least 10 athletes and can’t identify anyone, and we don’t try to re-identify anyone from these statistics. We never sell them.
6.4 Legal requirements and business changes
We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect someone’s safety. If AtBatLab is sold or merged, information would move only under protections at least as strong as this policy, and we’d tell you first.
7. How long we keep information
- Account, athlete profiles, Game Lab history, and swing measurements: until you delete them or your account
- Swing videos (original, processed, annotated): 30 days after upload
- Training copies: the app’s copy up to 15 days; copies used in a training run until that run ends
- Anonymous progress summaries a coach keeps: until the coach deletes them or their account
- Game Lab usage statistics: 180 days
- Password reset links: they work once and expire (1 hour, or 24 hours if support creates one)
- Records of what was agreed: for as long as they apply
- Signed parental consent forms: permanently, as a record of consent, including after an account is deleted. They name only the adult who signed, never a child.
- Combined, de-identified statistics: as long as they’re useful (they don’t identify anyone)
- Visit and referral records: until you delete your account
- Support messages: until you delete your account (copies in our support email inbox may remain)
- Security logs (such as sign-in attempts and IP addresses): kept to protect accounts, and no longer linked to you once you delete your account
8. Security
- Connections are encrypted (HTTPS), and our database and file storage providers encrypt stored data
- Passwords and reset links are stored only as one-way hashes. Support staff never see your password; if you’re locked out, they can give you a one-time link to choose a new one
- Videos and photos are stored privately and shown only after checking that the viewer may see them
- Only AtBatLab staff have admin access
No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will tell you if a breach affects it.
9. Your choices and rights
- See and change: athlete details, teams, and settings are editable in the app.
- Stop sharing: disconnect a coach, or turn off swing sharing or training, from the athlete’s details.
- Delete: delete an athlete (with their history, videos, and photo), or your whole account in Settings → Account, which deletes the workspaces only you belong to. Deletion is permanent.
- Get a copy: download your information any time in Settings → Account → Download my data, or email us.
- See the consent you signed: Settings → Account → Signed consent form.
- Keep someone from seeing your athlete: turn off any assistant coach in the athlete’s details.
- Parents of children under 13 have the rights described in the Children’s Privacy Notice.
- Depending on where you live (for example California or the European Economic Area), you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or object to processing. Email us to use them; we won’t treat you differently for doing so.
Everyone gets the same protections. We apply these protections to everyone in the United States, following the strictest rules that apply in any state: the federal Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act, state laws on children’s privacy and app store age checks, and state consumer privacy laws. We answer requests within 45 days. If we can’t do what you asked, we’ll tell you why, and you can ask us to reconsider (an appeal) by replying; we’ll answer that within 45 days too. If you’re still not satisfied, you can contact your state attorney general.
10. Cookies and storage
We use a cookie to keep you signed in, a short-lived cookie while you sign in with Google, and a short-lived cookie after an under-18 answer on the age question. Your browser also stores preferences (such as theme and text size) and how you found AtBatLab, which is also saved with your account. We don’t use advertising cookies or tracking for advertising, and fonts are served by AtBatLab. The CAPTCHA service, if a check is triggered, uses its own cookies.
11. Changes
If we change this policy in a way that affects how we use information about athletes, we’ll ask for a parent’s agreement again before applying the change to their child’s information.
