How children use AtBatLab
Children don’t have accounts. A parent or guardian creates an adult account and adds each child as an athlete profile, and the child plays Game Lab on the parent’s account or on a device the parent set up. Coaches can add athletes to their own roster only with a parent’s or guardian’s permission. We never ask a child for an email address, phone number, or other contact details.
What we collect about your child
- What you enter: name or nickname, age group or birth date, gender, handedness, positions, jersey number, bat length, notes, and an optional photo.
- What your child does in Game Lab: answers chosen, first-try results, retries, time spent on each play, workshops and practice completed, and levels opened.
- Swing videos an adult uploads, and the measurements we take from them.
- Notes between your family and a coach you connected.
- Practice points on a team board, if your child’s coach keeps the board on.
- Device information while your child uses AtBatLab on your account: IP address, browser, and how long a visit lasts.
How we use it
Only to provide AtBatLab to your family: Game Lab plays and feedback, progress and report cards, the coach features you choose, swing analysis, keeping accounts secure, and improving AtBatLab with our own usage statistics. We don’t show ads, sell information, build advertising profiles, or use facial recognition. Your child can use every feature without giving more information than it needs.
Who can see it
- Your family’s account.
- Coaches you choose. Only after you agree to share with that coach. They see your child’s profile (name, photo, age, positions, and other details, but not your private notes), Game Lab practice, report card, and assignments, plus your name and email. They also see the swing videos you upload, and can save copies, unless you turn that off for that coach; a video the coach uploads of your child stays visible to the coach. If you invite a coach by email, we email them your child’s name and your name.
- Teammates and their families, if the coach keeps the team board on: your child’s first name, last initial, and practice points from the last 7 days. You can keep your child off the board.
- A coach you connected, after you delete your child’s profile: only an anonymous summary of the progress made while coaching them (age group, dates, practice results; no name, photo, or video), if the coach keeps such summaries.
- Services that run AtBatLab for us (hosting, database, file storage, email delivery), only to provide their service.
- We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect someone’s safety.
Your signed consent
Before you add your athletes, you sign a parental consent form in the app (your typed name is your electronic signature). You can view and print it any time in Settings. We keep signed forms permanently as a record of your consent, even if you delete your account; they name only you, never your child.
Assistant coaches and other families
A head coach can add assistant coaches, and approves each one; approved staff see what the head coach sees. You can keep any of them from seeing your child, at any time, from your child’s details. Other athletes and their families can’t see your child’s information, except a first name, last initial, and practice points on a team board if the coach turns it on (you can keep your child off it). A family board, if you turn it on, ranks only the athletes in your own account.
AI and your child’s data
Swing analysis runs on AtBatLab’s own systems, and our models are trained in-house. We never send your child’s videos or information to outside AI companies or services. We keep swing measurements, like rotation, stride, and scores, but we don’t use facial recognition or keep face scans or anything else used to identify a person from their body. We also combine results across athletes into statistics, to improve AtBatLab and describe its results; anything shared outside AtBatLab combines at least 10 athletes and can’t identify anyone. These are never sold.
Training our swing analysis
On unless you turn it off, when you add your child or later in your child’s details. A small number of your child’s swing videos may be copied to help train AtBatLab’s own analysis and catch analysis mistakes sooner; being included doesn’t mean a video will be used. Training copies show your child, are used only by AtBatLab, and are never shared or sold. The copy the app keeps is deleted within 15 days (or right away if you turn training off), and copies used in a training run are deleted after that run. Turning it off doesn’t change anything else.
How long we keep it
- Swing videos: deleted automatically 30 days after upload.
- Your child’s profile, Game Lab history, and swing measurements: until you delete them or your account.
Your rights
- Review: see your child’s profile, Game Lab history, and report card in the app at any time, or download everything in Settings → Account → Download my data.
- Delete: delete your child’s athlete profile (with their history, videos, and photo), or your whole account, in the app. It’s permanent.
- Stop collection or sharing: disconnect a coach, turn off swing sharing or training, or delete the profile. You can agree to AtBatLab’s use of your child’s information without agreeing to share it with a coach.
- Ask us: email support@resendezsolutions.com for help with any of these.
If we ever want to use your child’s information in a new way, we’ll ask for your agreement first.
